NATO and The Warsaw Pact

The NATO or North Atlantic Treaty Organization is an organization that includes Europe and North America. The main reason why the NATO organization was formed was because the countries involved wanted defensive alliances. This meant if one of the countries got attacked and they were part of the the NATO organization they would all have each others backs.

The Warsaw Pact was like the NATO formation but this one consisted of the Soviet Union and its satellite countries. This was created for the same reason the NATO formation was created for. The defensive alliance. The Warsaw Pact was formed in response of NATO. But the pact got dissolved at the late 90's.

Film lesson: "The Right Stuff"

The U.S and the USSR in the film "The Right Stuff" are competting for space. In the movie it tells you that Russia is winning the race. They put a satelite in space called "sputnik." This satelite was very scary to the amercian citiznes. they thought that the Russians were beating them and were scared that the Russians were going to bomb the Amercians. the most famous scene i will remember from that movie is when the Americans finaly broke the sound barrier and they made history.

Film Lesson: "Schindler's List"

this movie shows the re-make of what happened. it shows the exact things that happened in a very affective way. this movie had a lot of powerful scenes but the most powerful scene to me was the last one where they announced that the war was over and the worst was over. Th e reaming were survivers of the most horrible experience in history. They were alive but dead inside because of what they to expeirence this whole time. They had to there own kind murdered and slautered. the last scene will stay with me forever.

Night and Fog

the movie Night and Fog was very visual and deatialed. It shows everything that happened very vividly. I liked this movie becuase it showed what it really was. This movie impacted me a lot. It showed a lot of stuff that I didn't think happened. the images they showed really made me see how bad the conditions were. I found this movie very powerful in its words and the images. I think if a lot of people see this movie they would really be moved like I was. Seeing both Night and Fog and Schindler's list i can see that Night and Fog really showed what happened and Schindler's list just showed a reenactment which was good but the other movie showed more of what happened. i think thios because Night and Fog showed more pictures which is what really gives you the idea, while the movie just shows it for a short period of time.
